Scottish Government
The Scottish Government is the executive body in Scotland responsible for all devolved matters. It is accountable to the Scottish Parliament. The executive consists of the First Minister plus a team of Scottish Ministers including Law Officers. The statutory powers and duties exercised by UK Ministers in Scotland in relation to devolved matters have been transferred to Scottish Ministers.
Chief Scientists Office
Responsible for encouraging and supporting health research. The CSO aims to improve both health in Scotland and NHS services. Responsible for R&D Strategy for the NHS Scotland.
Clinical Standards Board for Scotland
The Clinical Standards Board for Scotland is responsible for publishing clinical standards for the areas identified as national priorities - namely cancer, coronary heart disease and mental health
